Job Purpose:
Helps the business make better decisions by analyzing customer, sales, and marketing data. This role focuses on understanding customer behavior, improving online sales, and ensuring marketing activities deliver the best return on investment. You’ll work closely with teams across the business to provide insights that help grow revenue and improve customer experience.
Key Roles:
1. Understanding Online Sales & Customer Behavior
- Analyze sales data, customer trends, and website performance to spot opportunities for growth.
- Identify which products are selling well, who is buying them, and how often customers return.
- Help improve online shopping journeys by identifying where customers drop off or abandon their purchases.
2. Improving Marketing Performance
- Measure the success of marketing campaigns (e.g. email, paid ads, social media) and suggest ways to improve results.
- Track the effectiveness of different marketing channels (e.g. Google, Facebook, Instagram) to see where the business gets the best return on investment.
- Support marketing teams with customer segmentation, helping to target the right audiences with personalized offers.
3. Reporting & Presenting Data in a Clear Way
- Create easy-to-understand dashboards and reports to share insights with teams across the business.
- Use tools like Google Looker Studio, Power BI, or Excel to track sales, customer behavior, and campaign performance.
- Present findings in a simple, meaningful way so that everyone, from marketing to senior managers, can use the insights to make decisions.
4. Making Sure Data is Accurate & Useful
- Ensure customer and sales data is accurate, up-to-date, and reliable.
- Support Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Consent Mode v2 to make sure website tracking is correct and GDPR-compliant.
- Work with developers and eCommerce teams to fix any tracking issues.
5. Running Tests to Improve Website & Sales
- Help run A/B tests to improve conversion rates and make sure changes to the website lead to more sales.
- Analyze customer journeys to see how small improvements (e.g. faster checkout, clearer product descriptions) impact sales.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Good understanding of data analysis and how to turn numbers into useful insights.
- Experience using Google Analytics (GA4), Excel (Pivot Tables, Charts), and data reporting tools.
- Ability to create clear reports and dashboards that help teams make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills – able to spot trends, identify issues, and suggest improvements.
- Comfortable working with different teams, explaining data in a way that’s easy to understand.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Not Essential):
- Experience working with an eCommerce business (B2C).
- Familiarity with Shopify and its reporting tools.
- Knowledge of SQL for deeper data analysis.
- Experience using Google Tag Manager (GTM) to track user activity on a website.
- Experience using AI-driven analytics tools (Google Analytics AI, BigQuery ML, AI-powered CRM/marketing-tools)
- Familiarity with AI-powered customer segmentation and predictive analytics
- Understanding of AI-enhanced reporting tools for automated insights
- Exposure to tools like scit-learn, TensorFlow or Azure Machine Learning
- Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaaborn) or R for statistical analysis
- Awareness of GDPR and data privacy regulations affecting customer/consumer data.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure for data storage, processing and analysis
- Experience of ETL capabilities in Azure such as Azure Data Factory/Azure Synapse Analytics.
