Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Software Business Analyst (BA) to bridge the gap between our Software Development team and business departments. In this role, you will manage requirements gathering, technical communication, and documentation for various software development projects. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming business needs into actionable requirements, supporting integration and development efforts, and ensuring smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Engineering and Process Documentation:
- Manage requests, from gathering requirements to documenting the development process.
- Translate business needs into clear and actionable user stories and process flows.
- Support the documentation of business cases, project progress updates, and feature development.
- Capture and maintain system documentation and process workflows.
- Ensure smooth and timely communication of project progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Coordination and Delivery:
- Collaborate with the Delivery Manager and development teams to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure that business requirements are met within specified time frames.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, providing regular progress updates.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of software delivery.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, including business, service desk, and development teams.
- Facilitate and attend meetings with stakeholders to capture requirements, discuss proposals, and evaluate the impact of system changes.
- Lead discussions to identify business needs and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.
- Technical Business Analysis:
- Understand the intricacies of systems to diagnose issues, identify gaps, and suggest opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure requirements are properly understood and technical specifications are clear.
- Review and refine integration specifications, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical capabilities.
- Testing and Validation:
- Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
- Develop and execute test plans and test scripts to validate system functionality.
- Track defects, analyze testing results, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Training and Documentation:
- Develop and deliver user training sessions to demonstrate new features and updates.
- Create and update technical system diagrams and user guides to capture system operations and features.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor the delivery of business change projects and ensure they meet business goals.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to the software development process.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on business analysis and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Proven experience in translating business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Experience in managing the development backlog and prioritizing tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under shifting priorities.
- Prior experience in Retail/Distribution industries is preferred but not essential.
