Job Summary:
As a Junior Engineer Runner specializing in SQL with a focus on complex queries, joins, unions, and aggregations, you will be a valuable member of our technical team. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and optimize intricate SQL queries to extract, combine, and analyze data from various sources. You will work closely with data analysts, developers, and stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making and contribute to the growth and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries involving multiple joins, unions, and aggregations.
- UNIX commands to troubleshoot issues and work on operation items like clean-up, monitoring etc
- Write SQL queries that efficiently retrieve, transform, and organize data from relational databases.
- Create and execute SQL joins to combine data from multiple tables, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Utilize UNION operations to consolidate data from different sources or tables for comprehensive analysis.
- Perform various aggregations (e.g., SUM, COUNT, AVG) to derive valuable insights from large datasets.
- Collaborate with data analysts to understand and address their data requirements.
- Troubleshoot and fine-tune SQL queries for performance optimization.
- Assist in data quality assurance and validation processes.
- Work with software developers to integrate SQL-based solutions into applications and data pipelines.
- Stay updated with the latest SQL and database technologies, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Participate in training and mentorship programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to create complex queries, joins, unions, and aggregations.
- Hands on experience in SQL, Unix/Linux scripting, APIs, AWS services
- Proficient in relational database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Familiarity with database design, data modeling, and optimization techniques.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to address data-related challenges.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- A desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) is a plus.
- Ability to write UNIX scripts
