Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the business leaders to identify the key needs, and drive innovation
- Build strategies and develop expertise for the production of Microbial Cultures, Probiotics and Enzymes by using current global practices and technology
- Manage research and development activities through all phases of product development
- Document experiments and procedures (GLP standards) and perform data analysis to report findings to the team
- Develop and optimize the SOPs, validation protocols, provide technical assistance and train other research associates as a leader
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment according to the established schedule and procedure
- Work closely with the business leaders to identify the key needs, and drive innovation accordingly
- New product development/market visit to study the customer behavior
- Coordinate the production schedule; ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of the products
- Interact cross-functionally to ensure on-time regulatory submissions
- To ensure the cGMP practices are followed as per written procedures, complying with audit observations in the stipulated time
- To ensure periodic maintenance of Instruments in conjunction with the Engineering department
- Actively involved in preparing the annual budget for the factory and handling the entire excise-related matters including Exports & Import Documentation and Coordinating the sale with the Excise Department
- Training & development, introducing innovative initiatives in operations, continuous improvement, motivation to the team, developing Kaizen projects. Ensure employee safety at work and implement safe work practices & ensure that the relevant statutory are compiled in spirit
- Authority to recall the product in case of food safety violations, Withdrawal of the product from the market and take a final decision on customer complaints
Experience required:
- Proven experience in Product Development or Research
- 10-14 year plus year relevant experience (Food Industry Specific) (PhD Candidate)
- 14-18 year plus year relevant experience (Food Industry Specific) (MSc/Mtch Candidate)
- Experience in small team handling
- Customer exposure is desirable
